Robert Scott’s Exel ® Mop Sockets contain BioSphere’s biodegradable additive, helping plastic break down faster in the environment. Learn how this innovative technology supports sustainability and contributes to reducing plastic waste.

This product contains a special additive designed to accelerate the biodegradability of plastic in landfills, which has been tested using ASTM D5511, a commonly recognised test method for assessing biodegradability. While ordinary plastic may degrade slowly over hundreds, if not thousands, of years, ASTM D5511 testing was performed on the mop socket for 379 days and shows that 29.6% of the product has already biodegraded. Testing is ongoing; while the biodegradation process should continue, it may or may not continue at the same rate.

BioSphere additive is a Directive 2019/904 compliant additive enabling polymer chain assimilation without micro fragmentation.

*Note: This claim is intended for The UK, Republic of Ireland, and Netherlands markets. Some Jurisdictions outside these markets do not permit biodegradability claims. If you reside in a jurisdiction that does not permit such claims, you should not purchase this product soley based on this claim.
